Patents that have been issued to the Faculty together with publications by individual staff members have been of great importance in TF research and science. Such activities present an important criterion for the assessment of the reserach work quality and efficiency. The patents and publications appearing namely in scientific periodicals with an impact factor (IF) represent with increasing intensity one of the basic criteria of the assessment not only of individual workers but above all of the entire faculty. Such an assessment has also been a criterion for allocating funds to the faculties, for the accreditation proceedings, for career development of individual staff members, etc. Individual worker´s  publications are registered annually in the CULS database and the data are stated in CEP, RIV, etc.

Besides the IF-scientific periodicals the research results have been regularly published in ordinary specialist journals, in the book form and especially as scientific monographs, and they are presented at scientific conferences and in collections of papers. A number of staff members have achieved a high international repute.
