A university graduate is a person who has successfully completed their studies. Only so-called recent graduates are eligible for a traineeship for graduates. Under the Erasmus+ programme, all graduates have this status for one year from the date of their graduation.
Every student has 12 months of Erasmus+ financial support at each level of studies (Bachelor's, Master's, PhD). The number of months used during a particular level of studies reduces the total number of Erasmus months at the same level of studies. For example: a student who went on an 8-month Erasmus exchange as part of a Master's studies has only 4 months available for a traineeship for recent graduates.
Is it possible to go on a traineeship for recent graduates between my Bachelor's and Master's degree? (or between Master's and PhD)
The eligibility for a graduate internship depends on whether the student is already enrolled in a follow-up master's degree or doctoral program. If the student is admitted to such a program, they cannot undertake a graduate traineeship between two degrees.
However, if the student has not yet taken the entrance examination for the follow-up master's degree or doctoral program, they are eligible for a graduate traineeship. It's essential to note that during the graduate traineeship, the student must not re-enroll as a student (for instance, by passing the entrance examination). Violating this condition may result in the student's grant being revoked as a breach of contract.
Also, if a student is studying two study programmes at the same time at the same university, and successfully completes one of them earlier, it is possible for him/her to go on a traineeship for recent graduates. In this case, it is always important that the field of the traineeship is related to the study programme that the student has successfully completed and has been nominated by the faculty where he/she completed the studies.
