Project name: New orchard concept using technology 4.0
Programme Title: Applied „ZEMĚ“ research programme of the Ministry of Agriculture for the period of 2017–2025
Registration number: QK21010170
Annotation: The project brings a solution to a new concept of the orchard, focusing on the production of market apples. The sensor technology, advanced automation methods, artificial intelligence and robotics will be used. The project looks at the issue comprehensively from the selection of suitable columnar apple trees genotypes, to a new system of tree anchoring with the use of robotics. The aim of the project is also to develop a mechanization element for fruit harvesting and to present the possibilities of growing fruit with higher efficiency with minimal need for human labor, which is an integral part of fruit growing. Development of autonomous systems and monitoring technologies of the orchard will significantly increase the effectiveness of interventions at the level of individual trees.
