CZU cancels contact lessons from March 11 until further notice

Updated at Tue 10 March 19:30

In connection with the current decision of the Ministry of Health which is based on the recommendation of the National Security Council, contact teaching at CZU is cancelled from tomorrow, 11 March until further notice

We encourage all executives to allow their subordinates to work on home office, if possible. At the same time, it is necessary to ensure the basic operation of faculties, institute, dormitories and other parts of the university, including both university establishments.

Following the Government's decision, we also cancel all cultural and sporting events until further notice.

In accordance with the Resolution No. 10676/2020–1/MIN/KAN of the Ministry of Health, the presence of students at classes is forbidden with the effect from March 11th 2020. Therefore, contact teaching of all types and forms of study, including collective practical training, excursions and external courses, is abolished. This measure applies to all locations where the CZU educational activities are carried out (including consultation centres). All deadlines for passing examinations requiring the student's personal presence are also cancelled.

At the same time, we notify students and teachers that the teaching process does not end there and the semester continues as scheduled. Teachers will ensure the continuation of the educational process through non-contact teaching, in particular using e-learning tools such as Moodle. Students are obliged to follow the instructions of teachers. Individual consultations should take place in a non-contact form, e.g. through electronic forms of communication. Students are kindly asked to contact the relevant teacher with questions about arrangements of the particular course.

Partial changes to the academic year schedule (e.g. in postponement of the deadline for submission of final theses) are within the competence of individual faculties; students will always be informed in advance.

These measures are valid until further notice and may be updated if necessary.

I would like to remind you about the obligation of all students and employees to register all their current business and private trips abroad in the CZU Registration Form.

Travel ban to Italy is now valid for all Italian regions following the decision of the Government of the Czech Republic. Moreover, anyone who will be returning from Italy must stay in an obligatory quarantine for the period of 14 days. Fine for disobeying the quarantine is up to 3 million CZK.

Individual cases without a travel history can be consulted by e-mail security@czu.cz.
